RPI Engineer Alum to Lead Dynamo 16U Girls
Former RPI Engineer Amanda Castignetti will head coach the 2014 - 2015 CP Dynamo 16U girls. This team will be tournament bound at the Tier I level and welcomes all players to it's tryouts, Spring 2014. Amanda will be assisted by Veronica Gbur.A product of Alaska Youth Hockey, Castignetti played 4 years for Shattuck St. Mary's Prep in Faribault, Minn, winning the USA Hockey National Championship 3 out of 4 years. In addition to being a Senior captain, Amanda particpated in USA Hockey Development camps in Lake Placid and Rochester, NY. She followed that with 4 outstanding years at RPI, Asst Captain her Junior year. Coach Castignetti is now in her 2nd full season coaching and has assisted many local girls with on ice and off ice training. Amanda will take her playing and coaching experiences and drive the Dynamo girls program to new heights, focusing on development and advancement.
Assisting Amanda full time will be Veronica Gbur. Veronica has coached boys and girls teams since 1997. She played for the Ohio Women's Flames Midgets, Colorado and Ohio State University. Coach Gbur is a USA Hockey Master Level 5 Coach and wrote her thesis on the benefits of off ice training, focusing on strength, coordination and hockey specific develpment.
