State Champs...on to Nationals...Green Bay...Again!

This past weekend the Dynamo 18U team became the NYS Tier 1 18U Champions.  This title had been won by a Buffalo team for the past 16 years.

In round robin play, Dynamo faced the Buffalo Saints, Amherst Knights, the Buffalo Regals and Suffolk PAL and posted a 2-1-1 record to advance to the State Championship game as the 1st place seed.  The team would have to face the formidable Buffalo Regals, which they tied 2-2 in the round robin, in the final game to claim the State Title.

The championship game was a back and forth contest, ending with no score after regulation.  The first 10 minute overtime also ended with out a goal scored.  Goalie Brandon Rathwell was a wall and kept the team in the contest by posting a shutout in the game.  Finally, during the second OT, Dylan O'Sick put in a power play rebound in a frantic scramble in front of the Buffalo net to win the championship.
